Thank you to the Goldwing Riders for raising money for Belfast Lough Sailability. We would also like to thank you for coming along Saturday with your bikes to present us with a cheque. Everyone enjoyed your visit!
Fundraising collection at Tesco on Saturday 16th February raised a total of £683.39.
Huge thanks to everyone who helped out and to everyone who dropped money in the collection pots - every penny raised goes to getting people with disabilities out on the water. Also many thanks to Tesco Carrickfergus for hosting the collection.
A huge congratulations to two of our young volunteers - Mathew Connolly and Andrew Forsythe who were both recipients of the Lady Taverners Award 2012.
Mathew was runner up for sailing and received a trophy plus £100 for Belfast Lough Sailability.
Andrew received a certificate of merit.
Well done to both of you and for your time spent volunteering with Belfast Lough Sailability.
Also big congratulations to Bryn Graham, a member of Belfast Lough Sailability, who also won a Lady Taverners award the same evening.
We are so proud of all our volunteers for the help and support they give to Belfast Lough Sailability and two of our volunteers are receiving awards this year from the RYA because of their contribution to our club. The two volunteers - Steve Frecknall and Karl Blythe, will be receiving their awards in london later this year
The award Steve is receiving is the RYA Community Award - Outstanding Contribution Category - "someone who has volunteered for less than 15 years but who has none the less made a significant contribution."

The award Karl is receiving is the RYA Community Award - Youth Category - "someone under the age of 25 on the 1st October 2012 who has demonstrated a regular commitment and/or inspirational contribution which is over-and-above their own participation or achievement within the sport."

Thank you to Karl Hunter for his amazing achievement with the successful cycle challenge. Final figures are not in yet but well over £1,000 has been raised so far.
